Alison BellAlison Bell, Presenter

Alison is proper telly. A couple of decades behind a mike for LBC or in front of a camera as a news anchor for CNN International, Sky News or ITN 24, she’s forgotten more about broadcasting than we have ever learned. Alison is fond of tabloid newspapers and Jack Daniels.

Steve McDowell, Bucks go no further

Spending 20 years in journalism ought to teach you a thing or two about how the world works, and given Steve writes, edits and produces for the show you would hope there is some expertise there. Reluctantly acts sometimes too. Steve is fond of cooking and shouting at his children.

Richard NobleRichard Noble, Production Editor

The man in the cans. Our post-production whiz on the edit machine really can turn a pig's ear into a silk purse, a space ship or anything else for that matter. can occasionally be seen on screen.

Dominic ColchesterDominic Colchester, Cameras and Lighting

A trained actor who once got spectacularly killed in Holby City. Helps create the magic with his fine lens work. Fond of anything with wheels and The Arsenal.

Jack SewellJack Sewell, Assistant Editor

Assits Mr Noble and is generally found sourcing boingy fart noises. Loves anything unless you have to spell it.

Alwynne GwiltAlwynne Gwilt, Production Assistant

Bored of being a reporter on matters insurance and investment, Alwynne came to iBall with her organisation skills, creative brain and lively sense of humour. She’s Canadian. So no moose gags.

Richard Beddard

Richard, who doubles as interactive investor’s stock market editor, doesn’t really approve of silliness in investing because he is actually quite serious about it. His investment blog can be read at blog.iii.co.uk

Technical info

iBall is shot in HD on Sony Professional HDV cameras and edited in Final Cut Pro on Apple hardware. We compress for the web using QT Compressor and then hand over to Blip.tv who host and stream our video files.
