If you have got kids or you are a shoplifter you know exactly what the value of this high street favourite is.
But if you are an investor you might be shaking your head in horror right now. Well, we still love Woolies…

August 27th, 2008 at 3:24 amI bought woolworth last time it was recomended on the interactive investors web site .That was early 2006 and the share price was 38p .A reasonable investment would have beaten inflation say 43 p instead it is 7p .

Heavens! A crunch has become chaos and carnage and the market only seems to go one way –meltdown. Perhaps, it is not the best time in the world to be cheerfully giving investment ideas, given it’s so difficult to pick anything out of all of this mess. Just look at our portfolio.
