Woolworths Plc (WLW)

August 7th, 2008

Despite being American originally Woolies is about as British as treacle tart and custard.

If you have got kids or you are a shoplifter you know exactly what the value of this high street favourite is.

But if you are an investor you might be shaking your head in horror right now. Well, we still love Woolies…

EBTM Plc (EBTM)

When a company's name is an abbreviation of Everything But the Music you are going to suspect that it is all about young people.

Well it IS. ALL RIGHT! Just because youngsters can buy the apparel and paraphenalia of their favourite pop stars does not mean it is a bad thing.

If you are an investor, actually, it seems to be a very good thing indeed. So leave me alone! I hate you!

French Connection Plc (FCCN)

We all know you can jinx stuff. Saying: “The traffic is good” or “Nice weather” is an invitation to being stuck on the motorway in a sudden monsoon.

Same thing when you make jokes about the name of your own company, sooner or later it will come round to haunt you.

Welcome then to the first edition of Dieball… Bwuhahahahaha!
