God’s own county’s second greatest export (after Geoff Boycott, obviously) might pile ‘em high and stack ‘em cheap.

But the shares could prove a treat for anyone who feels like they are in a defensive-stock
-buying kind of mood.

It’s fair to say that a company which takes £1 of every £8 spent on Britain’s high streets is a bona fide giant.

But just because it is big doesn’t mean it’s beautiful. It might mean economies of scale but how does it grow?

The boss Sir Terry Leahy is not known for getting decisions wrong very often - and tricky times call for decisive people.
